H-Racer and the Hydrocar - Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars

The concept of a car powered by a hydrogen fuel cell has felt like a pipe dream for such a long time. Although progress is being made by scientists around the world, it still seems like the reality is too far away. It would seem that the researchers and scientists over at Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies feel the same way and decided that a miniature version would hold the science community over for the time being. Either that or their kids wouldn’t stop asking them when they’d get to see the final product.

Considered to be “the world’s best selling fuel cell car”, Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies have released two miniature models dubbed the H-racer and the Hydrocar. They both operate in a similar fashion and provide an excellent display of how the engine in a hydrogen fuel cell car produces a DC current without dispersing any pollutants. It looks like each model does require a little bit of assembly, but after that you’re good to go. Unfortunately, by go we mean watch it run on it’s own without any input from you.
