Ovei Multimedia Environment – A World Away

by Magneto

If you’ve ever wanted to shut out the world to enjoy your favorite electronic gadgets in peace, your prayers have been answered. For a mere $100,000, The Ovei is your dream come true.

The Ovei looks like a seed pod from the next Alien movie, but it’s really a stylish carbon fiber multimedia environment with a built-in climate-controlled interior that boasts leather seats, 5.1 Surround sound, and room for a 26″ touch screen display. Designed by the UK design firm The Oculas Group, The Ovei gives the stressed-out rich man mindless carte blanche, offering solace and isolation from pretty much everything else.

Designers employed the likes of Aston Martin and MacLaren Technologies and used top-end products throughout to ensure curvaceous styling, one similar to a fine automobile. With mastermind access to A/V entertainment options like Internet, video games, movies and music, you may be hard-pressed to re-enter the atmosphere of the real world, once your orgy of personal time expires.

Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 5

by Magneto

The BeoSound 5 is the latest offering from Bang & Olufsen, the high-end audio giant. The BeoSound is a departure from traditional audio products the company has offered previously.

This digital music player artfully bridges the gap between style, function and high-quality sound. It pairs a lightweight, 10-inch LCD screen with a full 2.0 GHz processor, and it goes where you go, as a tabletop standalone, a wall mount unit, or attached to a portable stand.

SnorePro SP-600: Incentive to Sleep Peacefully

by Magneto

This one’s cute. If you’re blessed with a mate who snores when they sleep, or know someone who is, you might suggest this innovative device in conversation, with the concept of “tough love” in mind.

The SnorePro SP-600 records snores and generates bio-feedback by sending low-grade electronic pulses to a sleeper’s wrist when the volume of their snoring triggers a pulse. The goal is to monitor nights when food, stress, or other environmental factors encouraging snoring, improving future behaviors. An LCD display records time and frequency of snoring activity, and the SP-600 offers three – stage training designed to wean a person who snores from the habit.

Though sponsor HBI-USA’s intentions are good for users and family members alike, one wonders whether cloaked shock treatment won’t do more harm than good, whether such electrical nudges don’t keep you awake through fitful sleep, less rested by morning. Hopefully, the SnorePro won’t keep your snorer up to demonstrate other, more-annoying bad habits in bed. Personally, for $100, I’d invest in a couple pillows to tie around the offensive head.

Waring Pro – Martini Man’s Dream Date

by Magneto

If you need a drink now and you haven’t got time to mix your own martini, the folks at Waring have a solution for you. They’ve made a machine to eliminate the potential for muscle cramps from shaking your own hand mixer for about, oh, 10 seconds or so.

Let’s not forget this is a professional martini mixer. It does carry a five year warranty. You grab the olives and I’ll get the toothpicks, this one’ll be ready in a jiffy.

Despite the obvious and over-used James Bond references available, I won’t bite. A good friend of mine likes martinis; I’ll buy one for him instead.
