Question: Were there a pair of security guards flanking the last new cell phone you bought? No? Then it musn’t have been the Diamond Aura you were buying.
That’s what was required for this month’s debut of the latest Motorola diamond-encrusted phone at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress. Seems the boys at “Moto” drafted Alexander Amosu to craft an ultra-ritzy phone bordered with a full carat’s of diamonds, 99 to be exact. Not just any old diamonds either, these are all F-G Color, VS Clarity, and they come in colors. Oooh.
What else makes the Diamond Aura unique? Well, its $6,300 US price tag, for one, and consider the fact that only 50 are being made, so the bling-bling factor escalates considerably. Also, instead of a slide-out keypad like “normal” phones, this one rotates 180° to open. A 62-carat sapphire crystal lens, stainless steel case? Yeah, its cool; just not sure if it’s seven grand cool. Even so, compared to the Diamond MotoKrazr, this one’s a bargain. Find more info here.
