Onkyo TX-SR607 – All the Receiver You’ll Ever Need
by marczeale
The Onkyo brand name is synonymous with high-quality stereo components for consumers. Since 1946, the company has progressed through generations of customers and technology, consistently remaining at the forefront of innovations like their 2007 release of the first A/V receivers designed to process true HD audio and video in a single box.
The latest breakthrough from the New Jersey-based industry leader is the new TX-SR series of A/V receivers with a comprehensive set of features for the mid-range audio/video market. The “best in show” level TX-SR607 7.2 Channel Home Theater Receiver boasts six HDMI inputs, including the industry’s first front-panel HDMI connection for convenient access. It also utilizes the new Dolby Pro Logic IIz, which incorporates the addition of front height channels that expand listening depth for 7.1 and 9.1 systems.
The SR607 also enables a myriad of connectivity options, including standards and compatibility for MP3, iPod, HD and satellite radio, True HD and DTS-HD decoding for Blu-ray, and four specialized gaming modes for popular console systems like Playstation and Xbox 360.
All in all, this new receiver’s $499 price tag is a value, since its forward compatibility makes it possibly the last receiver you’ll need for a long, long time. Find them here.
