Bocci Balls of Light

by marczeale

The unique collection of lighting and interior designs from Vancouver’s Bocci, headed by ex-architect Omer Arbel, is as distinct as the individual, each one containing minor flaws and imperfections that add a nuance to the overall line of elegant lighting their company provides.

The simple collection is rated more for size than style, since most of the sconces, pendant lights, chandeliers, and even wall plates are variations on clear glass or white foundations. Every once in a while they’ll throw a curve ball in, like the Pings Bench that uses pleated fabric as cushioning material.

Arbel’s vision remains pure. His company’s pieces are dedicated to his fascination with the object, and though design elements are few, his collection remains pertinent to the modern dwellings and cultural establishments where Bocci’s best work is usually seen.
