The company’s recent acquisition by the Swarovski Group in 2007 is part of their new partner’s initiative for associating with and dominating all things potentially sparkly.

The Kingdom of Bohemia, the modern man’s region that includes the Czech Republic and Slovakia, is an ancient seat of Christianity settled in the 1^st Century BC by Germanic tribes. Its land has remained rich in mineral deposits and semiprecious stones for centuries. Gold, silver, and garnets helped build its empire, giving rise to powerful families with far-reaching powers. Many of the region’s richest cities still rely on mining as a source of commerce, and the area is today’s epicenter for fine crystal manufacture.

Generations of Schonbeks have produced a comprehensive range of classic and modern lighting designs that have brought the firm international fame. In 2006, the five-time ARTS (Accessories Resource Team’s) Award winner became one of just ten elite companies inducted into this leading decorative authority’s Hall of Fame.
