The Gem Table from Tema Homes is designed by Filipe Alarcao who is a product designer from Portugal. It is a part of the Lisbon Collection, and considered to be a limited edition. It has a unique shape that makes the table look different if perceived from a different angle. The table is interesting in many ways.

It is made from a new material called DuPont’s Monteli, and is similar to Corian. Corian is a solid surface material that is non-porous, seamless, and stain-free. However, the monteli absorbs the bonding of specific glue differently. This makes it impossible to view the connection of the pieces.

As a result, the Gem table looks like it has been carved from a single object. The table comes in white and in different sizes, and each unit comes with a signed certificate that is engraved in the bottom of each table.
