Introducing the Shadow Chair by Duffy London

Duffy London is an idea-based firm, and it shares many of the same ideas as other design companies while some ideas are completely different. The Shadow Chair from Duffy London is a clever implement of a floating chair. The seats of the Shadow Chair seems like it is only being supported with the two front legs of the chair because the back legs are not present. The answer is that optical illusion allows the chair to go against gravity.

The shadow on the floor is non-existent; it is actually a stand made of steel that serves as the chair’s base. The stand extends into the frame of the chair allowing it to stand steadily without the need of the two legs that are missing.
