Miki Astori’s Furniture Designs

After completion of architect studies in 1991, Miki Astori worked with Antonia Astori as an interior designer. Then he began collaborating with Philippe Starke, and took part in several projects with big name companies. Later he established his own studio in Milan that specializes in furniture design, architecture, and interior design.

He did a lot of traveling to come up with ideas and methods to use in his designs. He went to many of the Asia countries and came up with a new family of products that would balance ancient traditions with oriental suggestions using typically western industrial methods and high standards of quality.

Among raw materials, he prefers to use natural fibres such as wood, rattan, and iron. He usually likes to combine the materials together to create simply structured designs.
