The Reshaping Wood Table is no Ordinary Table

by Lotus

Studio Jo Meesters continues on an ongoing search for innovation in materials and techniques in design. The studio focuses on the research of new methods of material handling, the exploration of the boundaries in craftsmanship, and mass production techniques.

The basic principle of Jo Meesters’ work is sustainability. Meesters integrates various aspects of craftsmanship, sophistication, and details aiming to create products with emotional value. He emphasizes his commitment to design products that create a bond between the design and the user.

The purpose of the designs is more than just for function. The appealing appearance of the designs is fascinating, and the lines and curves that make up the shape of the objects are quite outstanding compared to the simple objects in most homes.

The Reshaping Wood table is for example, is no ordinary table. I may function as a table, but the elegant carving is so detailed that it is a magnificent work of art. It is obvious that the boundaries of craftsmanship are being extended to a whole new level.  Please see here for more information on the Reshaping Wood table and other works by Jo Meesters’.
