Scubism Furniture by Nigel Coates

Nigel Coates explores communicative and experiential potential of architecture as a language drawn from a commonplace. He believes that a city is best understood if explored as a living organism, and that popular experience and culture are crucial in the experience of architecture.

He is one of Britain’s consistency original thinkers in architecture, interior, and product design. He has designed and built interiors, exhibitions, buildings, lights, and furniture worldwide. He also led a career in teaching design practice and artistically driven, internationally recognized work.

Scubism is one of his most interesting collections of furniture designs from plump sofas to random legs and back supporters. The shapes of the collection are conservative and elegant; the color of the furniture is neutral with occasional mustard yellows and turquoise blue which easily blends in with most home decors and living spaces.
