Pine Beetle Wood Gate by Judson Beaumont

Judson Beaumont’s Pine Beetle Wood Gate presented a welcoming entrance for visitors of this year’s 100% Design Tokyo exhibit with its lovely heart shape. The theme for this year’s exhibit is “Love Green” which promotes environmental awareness.

The gate was composed from wood that was discolored by the pine beetle, and is traditionally considered to be unusable. For more information on this lovely gate, and other works by talented designers and artists please see here.
