Foam Chair that Helps the Knees

The armchair below is made of foam, and becomes an armchair when someone sits down on it. The wonderful design is created by a Taiwanese designer named Yu-Ying Wu who is a graduate from the department of Industrial Design at the Tatung University based in Taiwan.

The chair is inspired by plant cells and looks similar to a big block of tofu or Swiss cheese. Wu explained that she has problems with her knees and wanted to design a chair that can take some pressure off her knees when she sits down. Please see here for more information on this unique design.
