Where do you keep your books? Like most people, probably on some pretty dull looking shelves or perhaps under your coffee table. Bringing a new concept of shelving, Raw Edges has come up with a unique design named Hole in the Floor.
Formed by collaboration between Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay, this design studio has created a very original portfolio. These shelving units have been designed around the idea of things unexpectedly ending, in a physical sense at least. The strange shelves resemble drawers that have been sliced at the bottom, and to bring a more abstract look they rest at various angles. The resulting illusion is that there is a hole in the floor into which the shelves have been sunk into. This concept is so simple yet elegant, it’s a wonder no one has had a similar design sooner. The shelves are available in a variety of sizes and can be used in both tradition and modern interiors. Although you can see these products on the official website of the designers, there has been no mention of cost at this time.
