The Singular Patagonia, Puerto Bories Hotel has a very rich and colorful history. It was built in 1915 and functioned as a cold-storage plant, frigorífico for about seven decades. The Bories Cold-Storage Plant, as people called it, was the “final home” of millions of sheeps that were processed here, frozen and finally exported as wool and meat to the old continent. The private dock that was used by the European ships for trading has a length of 170 meters. Today it is used by fast boats and guests can explore the nearby breathtaking Patagonian fjords and nature.

The Singular Patagonia is a luxury boutique hotel that opened in 2011 and offers 57-rooms and unforgettable pampering pleasures. It is a true heritage hotel that went through a few years of renovation and transformation project with the supervision of local architect Pedro Kovacic. Many of the old interior and architecture elements have been well preserved. The concept was to blend modern design with the heritage characteristics of Patagonia. The main building and its corridors have industrial-looking stainless steel walls, whereas the hotel suites and rooms are furnished with solid Victorian-style furnitures. We really love the earthy colors, the floor-to-ceiling windows with the amazing views, the beautiful mahogany furnitures as well as the brass lamps. Believe it or not, the biggest spa in Patagonia is part of the hotel complex, too and totals about 3,000-square-feet. It comes with heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, steam rooms, sauna and relaxation areas.

The hotel is located in the southernmost part of Chile in the town of Puerto Bories that is next to the Señoret sea channel. You might find this factory-turned-hotel a little weird at first, but it can be definitely a perfect starting-point for any wild or if you prefer luxury adventure. The territory of Patagonia is shared by Chile and Argentina and boasts undoubtedly some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth.
