Vitra’s partnership with French designer brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec has always been fruitful. Just think of the famous Algues and Vegetal for example. This time the collaboration came up with a very special shelf and storage system. Corniches were inspired by the chaotic rocks, protrusions and other formations found in nature. Made of high quality and solid plastic materials, these shelves are truly versatile and can store and display all kinds of items. “The same way that we hang our belongings on a rock jutting from a cliff before diving into the sea, we need small, informal storage in everyday life too” explains the designer Ronan Bouroullec. Corniches will be available in three sizes and each size come in three different colors. Be it white, black or Japanese red, the results speak for themselves.
