Floating Through the Arabian Nights on the Deck of ‘O’ de Squisito

O de Squisito Houseboat (12)

There are dozens of reasons why we are attracted to Arabian countries and culture. Some are drawn by the exotic and foreign lifestyle, whereas some other people’s attraction is purely based on luxury, prestige and pleasures. Today we’ll please the latter group. ‘O’ de Squisito is an uber-luxurios floating home – currently stationed in the United Arab Emirates – that satisfies all the senses and desires of the soul.

Two young architects, Farid Esmaeil and Ahmed Ebrahim from Dubai based X-Architects teamed up with Leen Vandaele, interior architect from Squisito and together they created a contemporary floating home. This chic place promises relaxation in a sophisticated and mobile environment. Escaping from bustling cities, floating through the Arabian nights and making a romantic mini weekend hideaway on remote rivers are all possible when the high-power engines fire up. ‘O’ de Squisito was built with stability in mind: the home is created from two catamaran beams, as well as durable stainless steel and glass units. The 200-square meter surface is spread across two levels so the houseboat is more than enough for a family or couple. The upper level and deck comes with a living room, lounge area plus a kitchen that can be smartly concealed. The bedrooms, bathroom, toilets and navigation cabin are located on the lower deck. Unique interior details are highlighted with light fixtures by the Belgian company, Kreon. The icing on the cake is the amazing terrace and sundeck, that can be reached by a modern spiral staircase.

It’s quite obvious that beside its enormous construction projects, Dubai is now expanding on the sea as well. ‘O’ de Squisito might be one of these unique responses to the unstoppable dynamism. Would you like float through the Arabian nights with this dream houseboat while grabbing your glass of Moet & Chandon? If your answer is yes, then probably the weekly price of $14000 won’t hit you at all…
