Madrid Rio is an urban planned project in Madrid,Spain.43 km of tunnels are dig into the ground to forms exit routes that disappear underground.It has 6 km motorway section and its exits went all along the Manzanares river.This project allows the river to recover back its shores and gardens around it.This all is a disigning of Dutch Studio West 8.
MRIO arquitectos worked together with West 8,it is a joint venture,basically of three Madrid based firms.these firms are managed by Ginés Garrido Colomero.It is a master plan for reclaimation of river banks and urban development.Development plans were then prepared for the individual components: Salón de Pinos, Avenida de Portugal, Huerta de la Partida, Jardines del Puente de Segovia, Jardines del Puente de Toledo, Jardines de la Virgen del Puerto and Arganzuela Park.The most important of which include: the Salón de Pinos, designed as a linear green space, which links the existing and newly designed urban spaces with each other along the Manzanares River. At the top of motorway Salón de Pinos is located featuring choreography of 8.000-fold pine trees.
