Japanese PC and AV accessory manufacturer Elecom got bored of the usual product forms and wanted to create something unique. It teamed up with famous Japanese design office nendo and together they brought Orime to life.
Orime (fold) is a 5-button wireless laser mouse that has only flat surfaces, the conventional multiple curves were out of question. The mouse is available in various colors and was formed as though by folding a piece of paper. The name Orime (fold) comes from this idea. The mouse will give you the impression as if you were looking at a digitally processed image, or a low-resolution CG image popping up from the screen.
The photos presented below might suggest the opposite but these unusual mices will fit comfortably into your hand. We came a long way since the first computer mouse prototype (1964).
