The Hamilton watch brand is well-known to Hollywood executives who have outfitted numerous characters with many of the futuristic watchmaker’s designs in over 300 feature movies. The company’s fabled 100-year history includes an exclusive supply of watches for U.S. armed forces during both World Wars. Their latest creation builds on a design originally conceived for director Stanley Kubrick’s 1966 iconic movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The ODC X-02 sandwiches three black dials together to represent three different time zones, each one topped with its own valve-like pusher and floating sapphire crystal. The look is akin to a cross-section of an aircraft wing, according to the intentions of its maker.
The limited-edition run of 1,000 pieces will be available beginning this September for $1,750, ensuring fortunate collectors a singular watch with which to ponder the universe in three time zones.
